The Carwoola Community Association will be holding it’s annual Carwoola Village Bazaar & Car Boot Sale between. A wide assortment of collectables, pre-loved household goods, locally-adapted plants, kid’s/adult clothes, toys, horse gear, books, tools and workshop equipment, and general bric-a-brac will be on sale, together with bacon & egg rolls, a sausage sizzle, great coffee from Lecafecafe and snacks to sustain the whole family. The Bazaar will run between 9am and 12.30pm at the Stoney Creek Community Hall at Gathering Place, off Douglas Close. The next meeting of the Queanbeyan Evening Branch Country Women’s Association (CWA) of NSW is set to commence at 7pm at the Farrer Place Clubhouse, Queanbeyan Bowling Club, corner Farrer Place & Campbell Streets, Queanbeyan. Join the CWA at the Queanbeyan Bowling Club for dinner at 6.00 pm, prior to the meeting. The CWA aims to improve conditions for country women and children. They reach that aim in various ways including lobbying for change, helping the local community, creating a network of support and meeting together. The Lions Club of Queanbeyan are set to hold a three-course dinner dance in support of two local organisations at work in the community, St Benedict’s Community Centre and Cystic Fibrosis ACT. Food, fun, and dance will all be available while Sydney band New Rendition will be on hand to provide the tunes. Tickets cost $70 per person. Registrations are open for Cystic Fibrosis ACT’s annual 6500 Santa Speedo Shuffle. Register up-to-six Santas in a team if you dare to strip to your speedos and brave the Canberra cold to run a course on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin as many times as possible in 65 minutes. Funds raised will go towards supporting more than 100 people and their families in Queanbeyan and surrounding areas living with cystic fibrosis.
