Police would like to thank the community after a tip-off led them to the arrest of a man wanted on an outstanding parole warrant.
Steven James Towney, aged 31, was allegedly spotted by police in High Street, Queanbeyan on Wednesday about 12.30pm.
He was on parole for property offences, including break and enter and stealing.
A foot chase began on Wednesday, however police lost sight of the man.
Police from both the Monaro Local Area Command and ACT Policing began a search for the man however it was called off about 2.30pm.
After a tip off from the community, the man was apprehended by police at a residential address in Oleria Street, Queanbeyan about midday on Friday, April 15.
Police challenged the 31-year-old male who again attempted to avoid police but was arrested inside the house without incident.
He will now serve the remainder of his nine-month and 19-day sentence in custody.
