The Brumbies will launch their new jersey on Tuesday at 12pm, featuring the blue and gold colours they've worn for the past 20 seasons but scrapping the white with a new design.

The Brumbies have worn predominantly the same jersey since the start of Super Rugby in 1996, with blue and gold across their chests and white down their torso.

Chief executive Michael Jones says it's time for change, with three shades of blue to replace the previous design and gold trim around the neck.

"We are a club with a more than 20-year history and over those two decades our jersey hasn't changed all that much – this year it will," Jones said.

"We have worked very closely with our official apparel partner, Classic, and sought the input of the playing group, to come up with a unique design that we are excited to reveal to Brumbies fans."

There is a message written on the collar of the jersey as a throwback to Brumbies history and a view forward to future success.

The new jersey will be worn at home games with an all-yellow strip for select away games to be used.

Lock Blake Enever said: "I think it's really good, it looks like they've worked with the past jerseys so it's a good representation of where we're at as a club."

It comes less than a year after the Brumbies started the Super Rugby season with a blank jersey after the club struggled to find a major sponsor.

Jones secured the biggest major-partner deal in the club's history, with Aquis committing $8 million to the two-time Super Rugby champions until the end of 2020.

The sponsorship stability has allowed the Brumbies to focus on a bold jersey change, which could cause ripples among the club's rusted-on foundation fans.

"It's nice, it's lightweight, well-fitted and I think it's good. I like the yellow trim and the navy blue is nice. As a whole it's a really nice jersey," outside-centre Andrew Smith said.
