Gill was a runaway winner of the medal, voted on a 3-2-1 basis by players after each game, more than doubling the votes of second-placed Greg Holmes.
It's Gill's first medal win and the result underlines his value to the Reds, as one of just a handful of players to feature in nearly every game in a tumultuous season.
The openside flanker missed just one game in 2015 in a year where the Reds used 42 players.
Reds head coach Richard Graham said he wasn't surprised by Gill's clear victory.
"Liam had an outstanding season and it was without doubt his most consistent," he said.
"His influence around the breakdown throughout Super Rugby was enormous, however he has continued to develop other aspects of his game away from the tackle such as his lineout jumping and his catch pass skills."
Gill signed a one-year contract with the Reds midway through the season after rejecting an offer from the Melbourne Rebels.
Back-up flyhalf Nick Frisby, who played seven matches at flyhalf in the absence of Quade Cooper, was anointed the most improved player, while prop Ben Daley claimed the peoples' choice award.
Emerging centre Samu Kerevi won the Spirit of the Reds award for on-field and off-field conduct, judged by Reds staff.
Three former Queensland players were inducted into the Hall of Fame at the function too, with Wallabies centre Jason Little, dual international Tom Richards and 1960s player Alec Evans joining the 17-member group.
