Some 135 people will attend the function at the Roos Club on Friday night, May 29, to celebrate the 14 premierships won from 22 grand final appearances in all grades.
In the 10 seasons third and fourth grade won two premierships each, the colts won four and the first and second grade won three each.
"This is the most successful decade the Queanbeyan Rugby Union Club has ever had," Whites president Ian Darmody said.
"The idea of the Team of the Decade came from Grant Jones [board member and fouth grade coach] he formed a sub committee and they've done all the organising of it all.
"It's a talking point within the club and it encourages all the old boys to come back to the club."
The team of 15 was picked by the sub-committee, but also the four coaches during that period, Kim Thurbon, Glen Christini, Wayne Southwell and current coach Adam Fahey.
"There will be a bit of controversy about the selections because everyone you ask has a different version," organiser and Whites vice president Phill Hawke said.
The full team will be kept under wraps until the announcement, but The Queanbeyan Age has managed a sneak peek at a few undoubt- ble certainties:
Dan Penca
The current Whites first grade captain and dazzling flanker has seen success with the Whites for the past eight years- racking up over 100 games and three premierships, and has been selected for National Rugby Championship and ACT Griffins sides.
"Most players in Canberra would recognise him as the most outstanding flanker in the competition," Hawke said.
Josh Hastings
The full back captained the Whites to a couple of premier- ships, notched up over 100 games and played overseas.
"They all rate him as the best captain they've ever played under," Hawke said.
Les Makin
The strong prop was selected for the Brumbies last year and has great commitment to the game and the Whites, Hawke said.
"He's not intimidated by anyone, he just goes out there and plays- he never takes a backwards step and he's dedicated," he said.
The Whites tackle rivals Tuggeranong on Saturday, May 30, at David Campese Field where the club will also be celebrating their Old Boys Day, featuring the 'Off Whites' Old Boys Game, from 12pm and Darmody invites all the Old Boys to get down and support the club.
