Earlier in the month seven Tigerettes pulled on the yellow and blue for the state and flew the flag for their club- veterans Hannah Dunn and Lani Watson, Reid sisters Kate and Cassie and Megan Godfrey, Ella Ross and Kahli Jensen, who are incredibly only in their second season with the Tigers.
AFL Canberra and AFL Sydney were evenly matched and the home side looked to have the advantage for most of the game- that was until AFL Sydney stunned the crowd, making a miraculous comeback and blew the score right out to run out eventual winners by 34 points.
But captain Dunn said regardless of the score playing for Canberra is always an amazing experience and she is proud of her Tigers.
"It's so good to have so many Queanbeyan girls in the rep side," she said.
"We had more than any team."
Tigers coach Robert Anderson is now at the pointy end of preseason and is now looking towards round one against Belconnen at Kippax on May 2.
The club legend said the women's team has many quality players and he is proud of each of them, whether they are members of the AFL Canberra side or not.
"They're all really good players and I'm pretty proud of them," Anderson said.
"All of them deserve it and it's good for the club."
