The Queanbeyan YMCA has seen a great deal of success within rythmic gymnastics since it was established 15 years ago, including great results recently from a number of local gymnasts at the second NSW State Trial in Sydney.

Level 10's Vera Chalneva came 1st in hoop, 7th in ball, 3rd in ribbon and 4th overall- fellow level 10's Anna Vladimirov came 6th in hoop.
Kayla Murray (Level 9) came 5th in hoop and 7th in ribbon.
Level 8's Kayla Cragg came 3rd overall after placing 4th in rope, 6th in hoop, 3rd in ball and 2nd in ribbon- Rachel Ross came 5th in hoop and Naomi Warren can 7th in ribbon.
All gymnasts including Level 7's Michelle Bryant and Dana Ivetic have qualified to compete in NSW State Titles in early April.
The Queanbeyan YMCA has produced five state gymnastics representatives since 2009 and YMCA executive officer, Peta Virgo said gymnastics provides a good foundation for skills required in other sports.
"Gymnastics is a basis for all sports, not neccessarily just gymnastics," she said.
"It teaches self confidence and the skills that can be transferred onto other sports.
"We have kindergym for one to five year olds, tots dance for three to five year olds and rythmic gymnastics for five years and up."
