Jeremy Shada isn't a household name, but millions of cartoon lovers would be familiar with his work as the voice behind Finn from the animated TV series Adventure Time.

The show's cult following is a remarkable success for the 17-year-old actor, who will be coming to Australia to appear at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Brisbane.
He took the starring role as a 12-year-old with little idea how the show would take off.
"For animation especially, you don't really know how big something is until you go to a Comic-Con or something and meet the fan base, because it's not like you're going to get stopped in the street for it," he said.
It wasn't until his first Comic-Con in San Diego in 2010 that the show's following became apparent.
"I looked out to a crowd of a thousand people, all in Finn's hat, all screaming ... I was like, 'Wow, this is a pretty big show I guess.'"
Adventure Time is acclaimed for its ability to tap into young and old audiences alike.
Mr Shada said it's due to it's multi-layered humour, mature undercurrents and story arc that develops in the later seasons.
"It kind of gets into the deep, dark back-story and the origins of this crazy world," he said.
Working on Adventure Time has given Shada the opportunity to work with experienced voice actors such as John DiMaggio.
"Watching and observing what they do has been the most priceless learning that I could have... it's like having the best voice acting tutors in the business there, week in week out for six years."
They've taught him how to go off script occasionally, a skill Shada is allowed to put into practise when recording the show.
The actor also has a burgeoning musical career: his pop band Make Out Monday released their debut single in July.
Despite the success, Shada is unfazed by accomplishing so much a young age.
"It's hard for me to think of it as different, because it's what I've grown up doing, and I've been doing it since I was five years old so it's just kind a part of me at this point," he said.
"I don't really remember anything before acting, and entertainment and music."
