His comments follow the first of two days of the inaugural seven-a-side competition which was set up to increase the talent pool selectors of the ACT men's sevens team have to choose from.
The best performing players in the tournament will be in the running for selection in the ACT side to play at the national championships in Sydney next February.
Each club in the ACT premier division plus the ACT under 20s team is competing in the tournament, with each playing two matches last Friday, while they will finish with another two tonight, at the University of Canberra.
The Whites currently sit in second spot in pool B after playing a 15-all draw against the Gungahlin Eagles, while they took a 15-10 win over the under 20s, and will be after a win over the Uni-Norths Owls tonight in the hope of finishing on top of their pool.
Hawke has introduced youth players Lewis Bozzato and Ben Darmody, who are hopefuls to sign with the Whites for grade rugby next season, and said they flourished during the first day of competition.
"Thomas Darmody and Cameron Stanley are our only senior players; otherwise we've got under 18s and colts players that have come up," he said.
"Both Lewis and Ben were fantastic last Friday. Ben's a solid back and Lewis plays in the forwards."
He said colts player Ben Patterson was also being looked at to move up to second or first grade next season.
Meanwhile, Hawke said if his men wanted to finish on top of their pool, they would need to rid the errors he said saw them drop a two try lead against Gungahlin last week.
The winner of pool B will play the winner of pool A in the tournament final.
