Queanbeyan YMCA gymnasts Vera Chalneva and Kayla Cragg both bagged silver gong honours as their NSW teams finished second in the level 10 and seven divisions at the National meet in Melbourne three weeks ago.

But besides this it was a great effort from the two girls in their individual competition, being the only two state representatives from outside of the Sydney basin.
Seventeen-year old Chalneva, who competed at junior level at the Nationals in Sydney two years ago, scored the best result for Queanbeyan, winning second in the ribbon event.
In placing fifth for hoop and fourth for clubs, she placed fifth overall in her division.
Thirteen-year old Cragg scored best in ribbon as well, placing fifth, while slotting into the top 10 for hoop.
Both girls compete in rhythmic gymnastics.
The national championships were held at Hisense Arena between May 24 and June 1.
