Queanbeyan woman killed in highway smash

A QUEANBEYAN woman was one of two people killed in a fatal single vehicle crash near Cooma yesterday afternoon. 

The crash occurred about 12.10pm on the Monaro Highway at Rock Flat about 10km east of Cooma.

A Toyota Hilux utility, with a man and woman on board, left the road and rolled a number of times. 

The Canberra Times is reporting a 40-year-old woman from Queanbeayn and a 45-year-old man from the ACT were killed in the crash. 

The crash  blocked off the highway in both directions for a number of hours, with diversions in place at Nimmitabel and Cooma but has since been reopened. 

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
