The Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council (QPRC) is once again partnering with the Bendigo Bank's Braidwood and Bungendore Community Branches for the QPRC Art Awards.
The award has been running in the local government area since 2008, and there is still time for artists to enter.
"The QPRC region punches above its weight in artistic talent, making the judging process a challenging but rewarding process," said QPRC team leader for culture, arts and museums Janita Byrne.
More than 70 artworks were submitted in the competition in 2021.
This year's main prize is the Acquisitive Award, worth $5000, where the winner can also have their wok exhibited in council's art collection.

Four other awards are also up for grabs.
Entrants have the chance to win $3000 for their sculpture and objects in any medium for the 3D Award , $2000 for the Emerging Artist Award and $1000 for the Bendigo Pick Prize and People's Choice Award.
The People's Choice will be decided while the exhibition is showcased at the Q-Exhibition Space, which is part of the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre.
It will be announced on council's Facebook and Instagram pages once it is over.
Community Bank board member Di Izzard said the award was a great opportunity to support artists after the fires, floods and pandemic.
The exhibition will be open from May 13 to June 11, every Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.
There will be an official opening ceremony on May 12.
Artworks will be jointly judged by respected independent arts professionals from the region, who are yet to be announced.
You can register your works online at www.qprc.nsw.gov.au/art-award until April 27 or contact the culture and arts team for further information via Cultural.Services@qprc.nsw.gov.au.
