Capes for Kids founder Heather Foggett told The Queanbeyan Age this week she was confident they would be able to surpass the current record for the 'the most superheroes in one place at one time'. The record currently belongs to the US with 1580 superheroes united in one spot.
Queanbeyan mother Naomi Searle said her three children Mitchell, 10, Zachary, 7 and Anna, 7 were looking forward to being part of the festivities on the weekend.
"I think it's great, donating money and helping Capes for Kids continue what they've been doing," Miss Searle said.
Capes 4 Kids holds a special place in the family's heart after Zachary was gifted with a Finding Nemo-themed cape to help him through his appointments for cerebral palsy.
"He wears it to appointments and it helps distract him when he has to go to procedures," she said.
"It gives him a level of comfort and protection."
The Capes 4 Kids superheroes world record attempt will be held at the Queanbeyan Showground on Saturday, April 11. Gates open at 10.30am and the attempt will commence at noon.
