OPERATING hours at the Karabar Community Health Centre have been slashed by 40 per cent to cater for a staff member on sick leave.

The health centre, previously open Monday to Friday, will now be open from Tuesday to Thursday.Queanbeyan Health Services Manager Kim Bradshaw said the new operating hours would run for six weeks, and then be subject to review.
"The important thing is that no services will be lost," Mrs Bradshaw said.
"Mondays and Fridays are traditionally our quietest days at Karabar Community Health, so we believe the impacts to our clients will be minimal.Southern NSW Local Health District is advising clients of the centre of minor changes to some of the service's programs.
"On Mondays, our family care centre, occupational therapy and immunisation services will move to Queanbeyan Hospital. The Monday morning and afternoon baby clinics will now be held on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at Karabar Community Health, however there will still be morning clinics every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday," Mrs Bradshaw said.
"On Fridays, our breastfeeding support group will be held on Tuesday or Thursday at Karabar Community Health, with speech therapy and occupational therapy either held on Thursday, or moved to Queanbeyan Hospital.
"We have notified the relevant user groups in advance, however we do apologise for any inconvenience."
The Karabar Community Health service provides some wonderful programs to the community, focusing on young families and providing support to new parents.
