Angus impressed the judges with his work titled "Aircraft Hangar" inspired by the film, The Adventures of Tin Tin.
"There's soldiers having a battle, a crane in the back and Tin Tin and his dog," Angus explained.
"There's also the aeroplane Tin Tin crashed into."Angus' mother, artist and owner of FORM Studio and Gallery, Claire said art is just one of the kindergarten student's hobbies. He also enjoys little athletics and drums.
"This was a quick line drawing, just a few minutes ... we scanned it into Photoshop and filled in the colours using the paint bucket tool," Claire said.
"Angus decided to use army colours.
"The six-year-old has won a trip to Melbourne for his family and a trophy."We were thrilled [when Angus won], really happy," Claire said.
"It's an honour."
It tops off a stellar year for Angus, who was also the joint recipient of the 2012 Queanbeyan City Council's Regional Art Award "highly commended" category with older brother, Oliver.
