There are two rounds of funding designed to support community resilience. The first round aims to assist the community in developing evidence-based Community Action Plans. Disability Inclusion Action Plan Consultation: Every four years, we review our Disability Inclusion Action Plan in consultation with people with disability. The community consultation includes surveys and face-to-face community workshops that focus on finding out more about what people with disability and their extended community would like to see improved in our region. The key aims of the plan are to develop positive community attitudes towards disability, create liveable communities, improve access to mainstream services and increase access to meaningful employment. Residents can complete the online survey until September 30 here. For further information or assistance, you can contact 6285 6045.
QPRC Waste Changes: Following the adoption of the QPRC Waste Strategy, all QPRC ratepayers and residents are now able to access all QPRC waste facilities. Alongside this change, refunds for the use of external waste facilities (including Collector or Tarago) will no longer be issued. This change will create a more equal charge for QPRC residents who dispose of materials at waste facilities. The changes to services are reflected in the reduced General Waste Charge and more information on services and facilities can be found at here.
1,200 community trees: Each year council plants at least 1,200 trees as part of our maintenance and care for parks, public spaces and streetscapes. Council's Urban Landscapes team recently completed a planting in Elmslea Estate in Bungendore where a range of trees were planted getting us closer to our goal. You can find out more about trees in our community here.
