Social distancing and the ban of non-essential gatherings is taking its toll on community and volunteer organisations during the response to COVID-19.

Video conferencing and streaming is becoming the new way of conducting business for these organisations.
Also competing for internet bandwidth are those working from home, students remotely attending classes and the binge watchers of entertainment streaming services.
The Tuggeranong Community Council is complying with the directions and recommendations of the Chief Health Officer and has suspended all in-person meetings.
The community meeting scheduled for April 7 will be now conducted as a video conference, allowing two-way interaction between participants.
Video conferencing is a new experience for the council brought about by the need to protect community health.
It may provide an additional channel to engage community members after it is safe to resume in-person meetings.
