Planning and Strategy Committee Meeting: Council's Planning and Strategy Committee Meeting is on February 12. The meeting will begin at 5.30pm at the Queanbeyan Council Chambers. Items on the agenda include a draft planning proposal to rezone part of Bywong and Wamboin, the exhibition of the draft Queanbeyan-Palerang Comprehensive Local Environmental Plan 2020, some proposed new street names and the QPRC Parking Policy. The full agenda is available on council's website at www.qprc.nsw.gov.au. Council will be holding an Extraordinary Meeting of Council following the Planning and Strategy Committee Meeting to consider the acquisition of land for the Bungendore Sports Hub. This matter is recommended to be considered in closed session.

Service NSW in Braidwood: The Service NSW Mobile Service Centre will be back in Braidwood on Thursday, February 13 from 10am to 3pm. You will find them in Ryrie Park. As well as their usual range of services, Service NSW is now a one-stop-shop for bushfire recovery assistance. Their bushfire customer care service has specialists to help guide bushfire affected members of our community toward the recovery support they need. You can contact Service NSW about this service on 13 77 88. Council is also operating a bushfire recovery information and referral centre at the Old Braidwood Library Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Staff will provide advice and help refer you to the best sources of information and receive feedback about what support the community is lacking and what obstacles they are encountering.
Braidwood Pool: With Braidwood currently on Level 4 water restrictions, council staff committed to reviewing the operations of the Braidwood Pool by the end of the school holiday period. The pool does leak a substantial amount of water each day, but given its importance in the community for recreation and swimming lessons council has decided that the pool will remain open until at least the end of February, when it will be further reviewed.
AXIS Street Art workshops: Axis Youth Centre are running a free street art workshop at the Bungendore Skate Park over three afternoons on February 12-14 from 4-7pm. There will be a free barbecue and refreshments and you can come and learn about the basics of art, design, street art techniques and installation, and help complete the final artwork. All ages, all welcome.
