The rivers are now open and how good is it to be back in the high country! Fish were easily spooked so a quiet, stealthy approach is a must.
On the coast, this amazing yellowfin tuna bite that we have been experiencing continues.
Water between Kiama and Jervis Bay has seen a steady run of bigger fish that have loved trolled lures, live baits and worked stick baits.
A little closer to home, the 1000 fathom line off Batemans Bay has again produced some large fish this week with a few boats tackling multi way hook-ups.
A little further south off Narooma and Bermagui, bigger schools of yellowfin have been very active jumping about and chasing bait.
Most of these fish are on the small side but make great fun on light line.
Reefs up and down the coast remain good if fishing for snapper and mowies, and there has also been a fair amount of nannygai about which are one of my favourite fish to eat.
Unfortunately, flathead have been shut down in most depths over the last week or so, fingers crosses they bounce back sooner rather than later.
Locally, Thursday night the MEJ's Big Burly Bash kicks off at Lake Burley Griffin.
It will dominate the lake every Thursday for the next nine weeks from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
