Locally, many of Canberra's and the surroundings best anglers will head to Burrinjuck this weekend for the largest freshwater fishing comp in our region - the Greg Whitehead Fishing Challenge.

On a good note, Burrinjuck is fishing quite well with some great cod being caught in recent days.
The majority of fish have come in low light or no light periods but a few fish have come on the bite at lunch time.
Yellow belly have been a little quiet for lure anglers but bobbing with yabbies has been a great option.
On the coast, Jervis Bay is the place to be; the yellowfin tuna bite is top notch and one of the best for many years.
The deep water and reefs off the bay are fishing very well for snapper and with less jackets compared with Narooma and Bermagui it should be on the list sooner rather than later.
Further south, bluefin tuna are still very active but finding schools has been the challenge.
There is plenty of good water still pushing up the coast so the bluefin bite is not lost.
Albacore tuna - the chicken of the sea - have been quite thick in parts and extremely good fun on light gear.
The winter kingfish bite continues, which is a feat on its own, and some good fish to 90cm are still playing the game on jigs and squid.
