The Captain's Flat Fishing Club held their annual trout comp through some very average fishing and weather conditions.
The first few days did not produce many fish at all, but Saturday night was a different story.
The lake was hit with a storm front with 50+ kilometre winds, rain and even snow.
Anglers who braved the elements - out checking their yabbies and power bait - caught some good fish.
A good mixture of browns and rainbow were found very close to shore and feeding on the mud flats, but not many caught on lures.
On the coast, bad weather played a massive part in the lack of tuna, but on the flip-side, those short stints of good weather have led to a few fish caught.
The right water is all the way up to almost Sydney now, so fish can and will show up sporadically along the coast.
Jervis Bay and Batemans Bay have produced the best bites thus far.
Fish have still been 35-40 miles offshore.
Locally, Lake Burley Griffin is again the hot topic with some cracking goldens on the chew. Vertical jigging with blades and micro jigs is the best method.
Googong has also had a pretty good run as of late, with some large reddies and XL cod playing the game.
Burrinjuck had a few bigger fish on the bite, with the Goodradigby arm fishing best.
