Foxton is an artist and designer based in Jamberoo, NSW.
Since entering the world of public art in 2016, her signature style and professional approach have her in demand nationally and internationally.
The portrait mural on the Bicentennial Hall will be the face of someone from the Queanbeyan community.
The public is being called to nominate who they think should be on the wall.
Foxton said she was over the moon to be working on this project with QPRC and the Queanbeyan community.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the community’s nominations for this exciting mural,” Foxton said.
Foxton has a distinctive mix of abstract and realistic techniques.
Her work explores the human condition through large scale public portraiture in spaces usually reserved for decoration or advertising.
“We are delighted to have Claire as our artist,” said program coordinator for place management, Tracey Lamont.
“Her style is instantly engaging, but you also appreciate her work the more you see it.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing Claire paint one of the many faces and stories from Queanbeyan on a mural in the CBD.”
If someone you know in Queanbeyan has a great story, you should nominate them today.
They just might end up painted on the Bicentennial Hall.
