A man was holed up in an apartment building on Donald Street in Queanbeyan.
Police arrived on the scene at around 2pm on Monday.

At 7pm the police cornered off the road between Margaret and Anne streets, stating they were conducting an operation in the apartment block.
According to neighbours, emergency services gathered throughout the afternoon.
Police and firefighters made their way in and out of the building throughout the day.

The siege ended at 10.18pm when the man surrendered peacefully.
NSW Police have called the incident an “operation” and have not confirmed the nature of it.
