Community Satisfaction Survey: Council’s 2018 Community Satisfaction and Wellbeing Survey has shown that the majority of Queanbeyan-Palerang residents are satisfied with the council’s overall performance and their quality of life.

Jetty Research undertook the survey of 600 randomly selected residents in September. The results showed some positive signs for the organisation, with 56 percent satisfied or very satisfied with the council’s performance and only 12 percent dissatisfied.
The council was rated as performing well on bridges; cleanliness of public domain; parks, reserves and playgrounds; sewage collection and treatment; waste and recycling; and water supply.
The community indicated low levels of satisfaction with community services; environmental monitoring and protection; and sealed roads. The survey is the first undertaken since the merger and gives QPRC a baseline for future performance.
Bungendore Skate Park: The council has recently completed the installation of shade sails at the Bungendore Skate Park, creating a much needed shade area as we head into the summer holidays. The picnic seating at the skate park is also being upgraded.
Morisset Car Park: To facilitate the building of a new NSW Police station in Queanbeyan, the police will be moving temporarily into Morisset House. The council has agreed to provide the NSW Police with exclusive use of car spaces in the Morisset Car Park and a secure car park will be constructed. Work is expected to begin this week and traffic flows in the car park will change, so please follow all directions and signage. The Collett Street Car Park behind the bus interchange is located approximately 500m away. The council is in the process of demolishing its former administration building at 257 Crawford Street. Part of that site is intended for temporary car parking once the building is demolished.
Bicentennial Hall: Council awarded the contract for the design, fabrication and installation of retractable seating at the Bicentennial Hall, Queanbeyan. Maxwood Technology Australia was awarded the contract, which is part of a $1.545m project to upgrade the hall with air conditioning improvements, rehearsal space, dressing rooms and more.
Disability access at Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre: The region’s first adult change table is now available at the Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre, enabling people with disability to participate in aquatic activities. The height adjustable adult change table complements the existing pool hoist and amphibious wheelchair.
