Fire plan
The recent bushfire across the border in the ACT reminded us all of the importance of having a bush fire survival plan in place.
Our friends at the NSW RFS have some great resources available to help you develop your plan so that you are prepared when an emergency comes.
Have a discussion with your family to develop your plan and visit www.myfireplan.com.au to see if your plan will give you the best chance of survival in a bushfire.
Railway Park Playground
Works are in progress to install a new play area at the Railway Park at the Henderson Road Reserve in Queanbeyan.
Railway and transport themed play equipment is being installed as part of a larger project that has included a solar powered light for the community garden and new shade sails over the outdoor exercise equipment.
This project is funded by the NSW Stronger Communities Fund.
Riverside Oval
An upgraded playing surface is being prepared at Riverside Oval in Queanbeyan, along with new fencing around the ground.
Funded by the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund, this project will see the Riverside Oval brought up to a premier league standard.
