In the tradition of Bavarian bootleggers it will be run across the border by the Canberra-based German club.
Harmonie German Club recently received Clubs ACT awards in recognition of its longstanding commitment to promoting German culture and arts in the region.
Harmonie German Club President Kevin Bramboeck said, “This is an extraordinary week for the Harmonie German Club. Receiving these awards just days before the 55th anniversary of the laying of the Club’s Foundation Stone, and the opening of Oktoberfest, is truly humbling.”
“Our House Musik band, the Harmonics, under the direction of our Vice President and Cultural Director, Dr Gunter Brandstetter, will play at Oktoberfest this weekend.”
“The Arts and Culture Award was presented to us in recognition of almost 60 years of supporting music and culture; Australian, as well as Germanic and European,” Mr Bramboeck said.
