The Manly Sea Eagles forward features on a promotional video for the Skillsroad 2018 Youth Census, a survey designed to illuminate the hopes, fears and general attitudes of young people as they transition from school to the work force.
“Do you remember the struggle of trying to pick your first job? Felt confused or overwhelmed? Me too,” says Taupau in the video.
Results of the 2017 Youth Census found that young Australians were experiencing below-average ‘life-satisfaction’ and sense of well-being, as well as the significant levels of stress which surround their various career pathways.
In light of these results, this year’s survey focuses on delving deeper into these issues in order to reveal the specific areas in which youth are struggling, and to inform the development of new tools and resources within the workplace to best support them.
Taupau also emphasises the great prizes up for grabs to all young people who participate in the survey, including a $1000 gift card or travel voucher, on top of weekly $100 gift voucher giveaways for the duration of the census.
The Skillsroad Youth Census is commissioned by Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) and is open to all Australian young people aged 15-24 and can be accessed at bit.ly/Youth-Census-2018
The Census closes on September 30 2018, with a report to be released on October 15.
