Police are appealing for public assistance after several firearms, a motor vehicle and other property were stolen from a house in the Southern Tablelands.
About 9am on Sunday September 9, a 69-year-old man returned to his home on Stoney Ridge Road at Jinden, between Braidwood and Cooma, when he noticed property was missing.
One of the doors to the house had been damaged and oficers from Monaro Police District were notified. An investigation then commenced.
Police have been advised that 14 firearms, ammunition, a white 1999 Toyota Landcruiser 4WD, power tools, and other tools were stolen.
The number of firearms stolen is a primary area of concern for the community in Queanbeyan and the wider Monaro.
Police believe the home may have been broken into well before the date the crime was reported. The incident likely occurred between Wednesday August 29 and Sunday September 9.
Members of the public with information are urged to come forward, especially given the number of stolen firearms.
