A critical incident investigation has been launched after a man was shot by police in Queanbeyan.

Just before 4am on Saturday 15 September, police attached to Monaro Police District were called to Monaro Street, following reports of a man armed with a firearm and shots being fired.
On arrival, officers established a perimeter before locating the man at a service station.
After a number of shots were allegedly fired towards officers, the man was shot by police.
The officers treated him at the scene until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics who took him to Canberra Hospital.
At this time, there have been no reports of any injuries to the public or police.
A Critical Incident Team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident, including the discharge of a police firearm.
That investigation will be subject to independent review.
No further details are available at this time, however; police are calling for witnesses to come forward.
