Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone.

Vehicles turning right out of Tompsitt Drive will be directed to use the U-turn bay on Lanyon Drive 700m to the west of the intersection.

Temporary traffic signals will be used to manage traffic turning into Tompsitt Drive.

Traffic turning left out of Tompsitt Drive will be provided with a dedicated lane.

Drivers are reminded to take care, drive to the conditions and obey a reduced speed limit of 40km/h throughout the work zone.

Over recent months, Ingleside Park, Hayley Park East and Jane Hodgsen Park, all located in Queanbeyan, have undergone a spruce up thanks to the CityCARE program.

Ingleside Park received a shade sail over one of the sections of play equipment and an extension to the fence to enclose the whole park.

Hayley Park East received swings and a shelter over the picnic table. Jane Hodgsen Park’s makeover included the replacement of equipment, refurbished swings and table settings.

Work started this week on an upgrade to the playground at Captains Flat.

The work funded by the Stronger Communities Fund and is part of Council’s Upgrade Community Facilities Captain Flat project.

To date the project has also included the recommissioning of the horse trough in the main street, trimming of street trees, and a new shelter over the barbecue.

There are plans for the community to assist in painting the amenity building.

Mike Shankster, a mural artist, has been engaged to paint a mural on the outside and has been speaking with the community for their thoughts.

We have two shopfronts available.

They have internal access between each other but are separate enough to work independently.

One will work as a pop-up gallery and the other as a pop-up retail space.
