Southern Harvest Association’s (SHA) operates under a multi-farm community supported agriculture model to provide the local produce box scheme.
Boxes can be picked up from local markets in Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Fyshwick and Lyneham.
This model aims to more directly connect farmers and buyers. The buyer provides an initial deposit to secure a share of the farmers’ produce, then receive fruit and vegetables as they are harvested.
Essentially you commit to supporting the farmers through the season and share the ups and downs of food production. SHA is committed to distribute the local produce and ensure farmers receive a fair price for their food.
Each season is 13 weeks. The winter season commenced on Saturday the 2nd of June. Each week you will receive a box of produce, mostly vegetables with some seasonally available fruit.
