The weather was perfect but the fish just didn’t want to play the game at the local Yellowfin Tuna Tournament.

Plenty of boats and lots of cubes, for only two fish over the weekend... wow - that’s hard fishing!
Elsewhere on the coast fishing was reasonably good, still some nice snapper getting caught on our reefs with micro jigs and plastics working best.
A few nice duskies were caught in the estuaries and the last few fish I’ve seen have all been caught on large plastics rigged with a stinger hook. Speaking with these anglers they have all said no stinger, no fish. Clyde, Tuross, St Georges and Burrill Lake all produced some nice fish over the weekend.
Burrinjuck has been hit and miss lately, but has produced some incredible metre-plus fish over the last few weeks. Cod have been found in the shallows holding tight to submerged trees and rocks and have loved surface lures, swim baits and large plastics. Goldens have been a bit hard to find but have been on trees, so as normal, slow rolling grubs and bopping yabbies are your best option.
Locally, prawn or shrimp plastics like Squidgy prawn or savage gear shrimp have been the key to Ginninderra. Goldens have been on the outer edge of weed beds waiting to ambush incoming pray, and quite a few cod and large redfin have been caught by this method of fishing.
Lake Eucumbene is still firing from the bank with both bait fishing and throwing lures; but not so much action in the river.
I’ve done several trips up there lately and the worst part is the litter! It is utterly disgusting! And as with all fun things the few bad eggs ruin it for everyone else. I encourage everyone to start picking up that little extra rubbish or we will be locked out of more and more water.
