The Aces have strolled through to their first Cricket NSW Regional Bash finals appearance after a downpour in Orange washed out their final two pool matches on Sunday.
The first-placed Aces were scheduled to face the Orana Outlaws and Central West Wranglers in the Sydney Thunder conference, but instead will begin preparations for the semi-finals on December 10. It opens the door for a host of Canberra's most promising cricketers to play at the Sydney Cricket Ground, against an opponent to be determined following the final round of the Sydney Sixers conference next weekend.
The Aces will be counting their lucky stars they scored such an emphatic victory to open their campaign against the South Coast Crew in October. Another ACT side fell to Northern District by 28 runs in the Sydney Twenty20 Cup at Mark Taylor Oval in Sydney.
