Mena and Elia, 12 year old twins from Googong, handed out how to vote cards for their dad Michele Biscotti.
The girls said they hope their dad is elected today.
"He really enjoys being involved in the community," Elia said.
Carolyn O'Brien is also out at Googong handing out how to vote cards. She's representing her daughter, Katherine O'Brien, and soon-to-be son in law Brent Hunter, some of the youngest candidates running for election.
"It's been a wonderful day, the weather has been kind to us," she said.
Rachel Howden, of Jerrabomberra, was fielding questions from her 6 year son Alex about the election.
She said while there weren't any "big issues" worrying her, she was keeping an eye on development, including the Queanbeyan CBD.
She said she likes to make sure "green considerations are being taken into account", and pointed to development in Googong as an example of this.
Candidate Larry King has been at Googong Anglican School since 7am, and intends to be there until polls close at 6pm.
Mr King said there was "great camaraderie" and little competition between the people handing out how-to-vote cards.
