A grass fire burning near Wamboin has been brought under control by firefighters, however units are being diverted to a fire at Tarago.
The alert level for the Wamboin fire has been downgraded from emergency to advice.
Residents have been told to enact their Bushfire Survival Plans.
ACT NSW fire liaison officer Greg Potts said the 100-hectare Currandooley fire had now crossed the Tarago Road, south-west of the township.
The Tarago Road is closed to traffic.
The Neighbourhood Safer Place located at Wamboin Community Hall, Bingley Road, Wamboin is now open.
The Rural Fire Service is reminding residents that a Neighbourhood Safer Place is a place of last resort and may not have have emergency services at the location.

ACT and NSW firefighters from the Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue units are tackling the blazes.
Firefighters from the Southern Tablelands had also been diverted to help tackle the blaze near Tarago.
