Mike Kelly wishes you a Merry Christmas

This year, 2016, has been a particularly fortunate one for me as I was re-elected as the Federal Member for Eden-Monaro again, a job that I love.

Thank you for having me back.

I was proud to be part of Bill Shorten’s team.

We came so close to winning the federal election held on July 2.

It was a result that Labor was able to achieve after just one term, which was nothing short of remarkable.

During the campaign our team spent countless hours listening to our community across this large and diverse electorate.

I personally made 6000 phone calls.

It was clear that proper investment in our health and education services are still huge issues along with jobs and the economy.

It has been a very busy six months for me since the election.

I’ve been setting up offices, getting around to all corners of our large electorate, meeting with constituents, representing Eden-Monaro in the Parliament, attending school presentations days and community events.

I am here to serve you as a genuine community representative.

After a busy year, I hope you get a chance to catch up with family and friends over the break and take some time to get away - in many cases that means heading to the wonderful beaches on the South Coast.

Expect traffic delays, be patient and carefully plan trips before setting off in the car.

Let’s also reach out to those in our community who are struggling and offer them help – that’s what Queanbeyan and this time of year is all about.
