The session, held at the request of the aged care services company, sought clarification on a tribunal judgement which called for the developer’s green-lighted plan to be revised.
The tribunal found three of the seven proposed buildings were not compliant with section 7(a) of the Community Facilities Zone development code. The expansion plan for the site includes a new club house, 154 independent units, a new 124 bed residential facility and 287 car parks.
Farrer residents demonstrated early opposition to the plans and during the public consultation period for the development application made 39 individual submissions with concerns.
However the plans were approved in November 2015.
Goodwin is required to present revised plans by September 30 for consideration by the tribunal when it reconvenes on October 21 but wouldn’t comment at this stage.
Farrer resident Eric Glass, who lives behind the existing Goodwin facility, led the review appeal. He expects the revised plans will include significant changes to the main aged care building and a one-floor height reduction for two of the buildings adjacent to Marshall Street.
