The Queanbeyan Market will be held in town park, between 10am and 2pm. The market brings together fresh produce, crafts, handmade goods, kids' activities and more, with a strong emphasis on supporting regional farmers, producers and local small business.

The Lions Club of Queanbeyan are set to hold a three-course dinner dance in support of two local organisations at work in the community, St Benedict's Community Centre and Cystic Fibrosis ACT. Food, fun, and dance will all be available while Sydney band New Rendition will be on hand to provide the tunes. Tickets cost $70 per person. The Axis Youth Centre and the Warrambul Dyurra (Young Stars) are set to hold a Family Movie Night between 4pm and 7pm at the Axis Youth Centre, Town Park. For a gold coin donation, you can bring along your own pillow to settle in for screenings of Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2. Food and drink packages will also be available from $7. With a new location and an expanded program in 2016, the Queanbeyan Christmas in July Market Day/Christmas Fair is set to be held at the showgrounds between 10am and 3pm. The market day will host Christmas-inspired food and gourmet treats, handmade Christmas gifts; plus loads of free entertainment. You can even support local charities whilst enjoying mulled wine and sipping eggnog. As always there will be loads of regionally-based makers and producers offering their handmade goodies.

The documentary film festival, Stronger Than Fiction, has launched in The Palace Electric Cinemas in New Acton. See award-winning films from real world stories from around the world about fascinating people and places. The Carwoola Community Association will hold its annual Carwoola Trivia Night from 7.30pm at the Stoney Creek Community Hall at Gathering Place, off Douglas Close. Trivia, raffle and auctions, plus a mid-evening supper costs $10 per person. Bookings are essential, with a maximum of eight people per booking. Registrations are open for Cystic Fibrosis ACT's annual 6500 Santa Speedo Shuffle. Register up-to-six Santas in a team if you dare to strip to your speedos and brave the Canberra cold to run a course on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin as many times as possible in 65 minutes. Funds raised will go towards supporting more than 100 people and their families in Queanbeyan and surrounding areas living with cystic fibrosis. The music of Joe Cocker will be brought to town when Doug Parkinson arrives at the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre. Backed up by some of the finest vocals in the country, Parkinson will deliver a deluge of Cocker's greatest hits from 8pm. Tickets are $69 for concession and $79 for adults.
