The Queanbeyan Indoor Sports Centre will receive a $2.25 million expansion if Turnbull is re-elected, announced Eden-Monaro's Liberal candidate, Peter Hendy.

On Thursday, June 30, Dr Hendy said the money would go towards constructing extra courts bringing the facilities courts up from two to four.
"This increased capacity will enable the facility to provide a diverse range of programs and services, helping local schools, rehabilitation clinics, and the local community."
Dr Hendy said the project would improve the financial viability of the centre and support local jobs.
"This project will increase patronage and improve the range of services and financial viability of the Indoor Sports Centre," Dr Hendy said.
"The business model for a four court centre is estimated to generate $180,000 annually in casual employment opportunities for young adults, supporting local jobs and growth."
"I've been working hard to deliver for Queanbeyan and Eden-Monaro.
"Today's announcement, together with our investment in local road projects, lower taxes for small businesses, better mobile phone coverage, and redeveloping the gateways to the South Coast illustrate that only the Turnbull Coalition Team has a strong economic plan for Eden-Monaro."
Funding for this project has been provided for from within existing budget resources.
A Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council spokesman said they welcome the funding promise.
They said the funding would allow council to broaden its range of sports to include indoor cricket and many others sports as well as looking into including a gym and cafe.
"The extension of the Q-One Indoor Sports Centre was considered a priority of the former Queanbeyan City Council and in December 2015, Council agreed to apply for federal government funding assistance to extend the centre," the spokesman said.
