Riverside Plaza have declined to comment on when a walkway will be constructed to allow pedestrian and disabled access through an unapproved fence erected in their north car park.

The wire fence runs along the boundary of the car park located on the corner of Morrisett and Collett Street and adjacent to Kmart. The fence, for which building approval was never sought, nor given, prevents access between the Woolworths and Riverside Plaza car parks.
The Queanbeyan City Council has decided to grant retrospective building approval for the fence, if Riverside Plaza management comply with certain conditions within a three-month timeframe. The major condition being that a gate be put in place to allow people to pass through it.
Councillor Judith Burfoot, who has previously described the fence as an "eyesore" said she had hoped the fence would be taken down.
"At least the [walkway] is an outcome for the community, that they can move through the city," she said.
"I think the community would prefer there was not a fence there, it still doesn't really make a lot of sense to me, but it is private land and it is a compromise."
Cr Burfoot said the implementation of a walkway would allow the community, particularly the elderly, people with prams, young children or the disabled to move through the area to access the bus station, doctors and shops.
A spokeswomen from Riverside Plaza said the fence was still the subject of planning submissions by the manager of the centre.
"As such, we have no comment at this time," she said.
