Division one seniors finished with a 52-31 win over Sunrise, but it was Sunrise who looked attacking early, Waratah coach Rena Spears said.
"In the first quarter it was very close, we started slowly and they couldn't miss, they were up at the end of [it]" she said.
"But we were very strong across the court and came home really strong. Everyone worked really hard- our defensive end played well and our shooters Jacoba Clough and Farrah Marolt were exceptional.
"It was a really nice game, played in the right spirit with good sportsmanship- both teams played very well."
The MVP for the match was presented to Sunrise's Jennifer McGurgan and the Chris Walters Medal was awarded to Jerrabomberra's Simone Coote.
Sunrise was very strong in the junior competition, they were in five of the seven grand finals and came away with four premierships.
Spears said Sunrise had been dominant in the junior competition this season and together with Jerrabomberra always have a strong presence in the younger grades.
