HOME in Queanbeyan manager Anne Pratt said more than 300 tickets sold to the event at The Queanbeyan Performing Art Centre last Friday, August 21.
They opted this year for a light-hearted change for their one fundraising event of the year - a French comedy, Welcome to the Sticks.
"The night was about raising awareness of HOME in Queanbeyan and helping reduce fear and perceptions that surrounds mental illness and make people aware also of home illness," Ms Pratt said.
It is five years since HOME in Queanbeyan started and Ms Pratt aimed to raise more than $20,000.
A raffle also added to the kitty with prizes including premium tickets to a Fleetwood Mac concert, Murrumbateman Meander wine tour and A-reserve tickets to Les Miserable in Sydney.
Currently, HOME in Queanbeyan cares for 19 residents at aged between 29 and 70-years-old. Four attend TAFE, one works full time, two others part time.
Remaining residents join in social activities around the community.
Guest speaker was John Bale of Soldier On and patrons Sir William Deane and Lady Mary Deane attended the movie night.
