The Panthers finished as minor premiers and won the Capital League reserves competition last season and after an undefeated run are looking to repeat that effort in Capital League firsts.
A nil-all draw against Tuggeranong in round five has been the only tarnish for the green and black's close to seamless start to the season, finishing the first half of the year undefeated.
Saturday's Monaro/ O'Connor clash was a relatively stock standard affair despite having nine players out due to injury and four players that ran out for firsts and reserves.
Panthers coach Pasquale Perre said his players have been playing together for up to eight years and form a quality side, some of them headhunted by Premier League teams.
"Vele (Dukoski) has been dubbed the 'midfield maestro' has been dominant in the midfield and together with our workhorse Nathan Walker he's our leading goal scorer," he said.
"Mark Kelly is always solid in defence, Lachlan Bible is our defensive to midfield go to man and Zach Knight in the midfield, forms one of the best midfields in the ACT.
"Dragan Stegnjaic plays on the wing, but he's been dominating front to back, but really I could say something about everyone."
Monaro have been branded 'favourites' for this season and Perre said his boys quite like the tag, and said he is very proud of them and is confident they can bring the premiership home again.
"The boys love [the favourites tag], it gives them motivation- I have all the confidence in the world for the boys because all of them step up when they need to and get the job done," he said.
