THE Queanbeyan City Football Club may have experienced some off-field drama to start this year's Capital League campaign, but new coach Zmejko Trajkovski believes his side is only getting better.

While they went down in a tight tussle against ANU 2-0 at Riverside Oval last Saturday, they have returned on par results after having lost six to eight core players before round one.
And with a 5-0 win over Tuggeranong a fortnight ago accompanying a draw and two losses, Trajkovski said his new-look side could still give their grand final defence a shot.
"I think we can make the top four and the semi-finals at least, it just depends what happens, but that is my plan," he said.
"We are going to get better and better. We have got a young team now but they are showing great signs."
Defending premiers of the competition the Whites Eagles have so far proved to be the heavyweights again, while Narabundah FC are also very competitive, but Trajkovski said his men would still be able to do battle with these teams.
"By the time our players come up against these teams they will have been together for two months, so we will have had time to sort everything out," he said.
"We still have three players remaining from last season [despite the pre-season player exodus], so we should be alright."
The team has welcomed eight new players into its first grade team, and Trajkovski said they were starting to find their feet well in their respective positions.
Nick Levanat and Nikolce Noveski have been in good form up front for the team so far with two goals apiece, while new captain Goran Milutinovic has lead his men well.
"He's changed from last year and is more mature now," said Trajkovski.
"He's very supportive and he's talking to the players to improve their games, so he's doing very well."
They take on Narabundah on Saturday in Narabundah.
