AFTER six months of construction works and even at times volunteer work, the upgrades to Dairy Farmers football park are now complete, with the Queanbeyan Tigers able to enjoy an improved facility.

The renovations to the home of Queanbeyan's North Eastern Australian Football League club featured upgrades inside the grand stand to the player changerooms, canteen and the installation of a gym and equipment for the players' use.
The completion of the project makes the facility in the area of one of the highest quality in Queanbeyan, with $450,000 worth of work done.
The Queanbeyan Tigers secured $250,000 in grants from the Queanbeyan City Council as well as the Australian Football League, and secured the help of volunteers through working bees to save further costs.
Work started in October last year before finishing just before the Tigers' home win against the Belconnen Magpies in the NEAFL on April 19.
Tigers Football general manager Ron Fowlie said the community as a whole would benefit from the renovations.
"It's a fantastic aquisition to the city of Queanbeyan," said Fowlie.
"We had the AFL and Queanbeyan City Council come on board to support the project which was great, and we could not have done it without the numerous volunteers that helped out too."
Tigers NEAFL co-coach Josh Bryce said having extra space in the team rooms made training and game preparation much easier for the players.
"We actually have an allocated gym area now where as last time we just moved the gym equipment off to the side and did our warm-ups around it," he said.
Bryce also said the improved facility would help attract other players to the club when the time comes to recruit.
"We've always had a rich culture and heritage here at Queanbeyan but now we've got these facilities to back that up and fill our boat," he said.
