HE sometimes had to call the police for assistance in a previous life as a cinema manager, but this week new probationary constable Timothy Graham has joined the thin blue line to help enforce the law in Queanbeyan.

Pro. Con Graham, 25, started work in the Monaro command on Monday, and will spend the next three years assigned to general duties on the Queanbeyan beat.
A Goulburn resident who commutes along the Federal Highway each day, he told The Queanbeyan Age he was looking forward to getting to know his new beat.
"I'm looking forward to knowing the area better and knowing the people of Queanbeyan.
"Joining the police has always been an interest as long as I can remember, and just [looking forward to] helping people," he said.
Pro. Con Graham graduated from the police academy in Goulburn last Friday, and will spend his first 12 weeks in Queanbeyan accompanying experienced officers on local patrols.
And as someone who's grown up in a regional area, he said he'd have a particular focus on safe driving along country roads.
"Traffic's always important; that's a big area for me. Especially [Monaro command] being such a wide area with a lot of country roads- country roads are always bad. So I've got to focus on [enforcing] good driving," he said.
