Qbn's Miss Ink

Miss Fryer, 22, was named the runner up in the local heats held at The Basement on Saturday, May 2. She and winner Jess Bagnara will represent Canberra in the final round to be held in December.

The public servant said she was "extraordinarily nervous" prior to the event which included a casualwear, evening and swimwear section with a question and answer session thrown in.

"Overall, it was an amazing experience. I'm so glad I decided to enter because I had a blast," she said.

"All the girls were very supportive of one another and the host Fallon [Nicole] was lovely. It was a pretty big crowd with about 100 people. Everyone got involved and the crowd were cheering for us so it was really good."

The national round, which is hosted in Melbourne, will also include a talent section.

"I have no idea what I'm going to do for that ... I'll have to rustle something up," Miss Fryer said.

Miss Ink celebrates tattooed women. Miss Fryer has several tattoos covering her body including a dream catcher on her left shoulder, owl across her stomach and roses on both sides of her torso.

She said each tattoo represents a milestone in her life. So, will she consider adding to her collection and getting one to mark her Miss Ink experience?

"I've been thinking about possibly getting a tiara but we'll see if it actually happens," she said with a laugh.
