At about 5am, Thursday on December 19 a man entered the Caltex service station on Lanyon Drive before threatening a 33-year-old male staff member with a firearm and demanding cash.
The employee took some cash from the till and placed it on the counter which the man grabbed before walking from the store.
The man is described as being a male of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 35-40 years of age, 183 cm tall with a medium build, black hair, a black beard and dark coloured eyes.
CCTV footage of the robbery shows him wearing a black baseball cap, a white long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Queanbeyan Police inspector Chris Varley said they were hopeful a member or members of the public may yet come forward with information that could lead to an arrest.
“It’s one of those cases where a bit of community help would be appreciated,” he said. “Someone must know something.
“We’ve got [CCTV] footage…but we’re hopeful someone may have seen something else that could be helpful to our enquiries.”
Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://www.police.nsw.gov.au/
