A SECOND man has been arrested by Queanbeyan Police in relation to the assault and robbery of a Queanbeyan taxi driver last month.

About 9.30pm on Tuesday, November 5, the taxi driver was punched repeatedly in the face and robbed in Crestwood by two male offenders following an argument in relation to a taxi fare.
An investigation was then commenced by Queanbeyan Detectives. On 19th November 2013 a 31-year-old ACT male was arrested and charged in relation to the incident.
During the course of the investigation a 33-year-old Queensland male was identified as the second offender.
On Monday, December 16, the male was arrested by Queensland Police and later placed before the Toowoomba Court where an extradition order was granted.
On Wednesday, the Queensland male was returned to New South Wales and taken to the Queanbeyan Police Station where was charged with Robbery in Company and was bail refused.
He appeared at the Queanbeyan Local Court this morning and has been refused bail until Monday 23rd December 2013.
The robbery occurred after the driver had picked up the two men on Crawford Street sometime before 10pm on the night in question.
He was then instructed to drive to Oaks Estate where it is understood the two men exited the vehicle and entered a residence.
They then returned to the taxi which drove to Henderson Road where the attack took place.
According to police, the 35-year-old driver was struck several times in the face before the assailants demanded he hand over a sum of cash which he did.
The two offenders then ran away in the direction of Oaks Estate.
The driver did not require hospitalisation and the sum of money stolen is believed to have been less than $100 in coins and notes.
