THE Queanbeyan SES Unit's volunteers were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication at the SES Long Service Awards and National Medals ceremony held on Tuesday, August 6.

The unit was presented with a mayoral award for outstanding service and certification of appreciation from the NSW Police Force, Monaro Local Area Command.
These awards recognised the service, commitment and dedication displayed by the unit in safeguarding the community during the December 2010 and February/March 2012 flood emergencies.
Individual awards also went to Marjorie Jones and Peter Peters who received national medals for 15 years of service. SES Long Service Medals were also presented to Mark Pitchard (20 years), Mrs Jones (15 years) and Christopher Cash (10 years).
